Opt-in market research program: Help us make Session the best it can be

At Session, privacy is primary. We don’t take shortcuts, we don’t make compromises — every choice we make is to protect and preserve the privacy of our users. The key to our ethos is that we want to treat Session users like people, not a stack of data to be used and abused. 

How you can help Session

We want to have some open conversations with real Session users — we want to learn who you are, why you use Session, how you use Session, and problems you have that Session can help solve. 

These conversations could help inform our marketing and communications campaigns, how we prioritise our resources, what goes into our roadmap, and help us learn what about the biggest pain points you’re facing. These are some of the ways we think speaking with Session users could help us.

Accessibility and usability

We want to make sure our user experience and user interface, accessibility features, and design choices make Session as usable and inclusive for as many people as possible. Privacy is a human right which belongs to everyone, so we want as many people as possible to be able to access and benefit from Session.  

Quality assurance

Obviously the Session team uses Session every single day —so we have a good understanding of how Session works for us. But our experience is not representative of the wider Session community, so it is useful to know how Session works for different people based on different expectations and uses. 

Fit for purpose

When we set out to build Session, we built it with certain uses and people in mind — and a lot of our feature and design choices have been informed by that. We are interested to see who is using Session and if the way Session works and feels suits your needs. 

What we’re proposing 

We are creating an opt-in market research program to connect our marketing and business team with real Session users. You will be able to opt-out at any time you choose, and we will delete any personal information we had previously collected. 

Some of the benefits of joining the program may include getting to try out new features before they’re released, shaping the future feature and design choices of Session, and helping improve the app for everyone who uses it!
